Regarding the COVID19 Pandemic.

This post is the central online update for any updates or instructions from The Kendleshire Golf Club Ltd (including The Secret Garden).

UPDATES:-

Monday 19th July 2021

From today all legal restrictions are lifted. However we are still asking all customers and staff to continue wearing face coverings when inside the building until seated, continue sticking to the ‘rule of six’ when indoors, maintain appropriate distancing from people outside your household, and stay away from our site entirely should you be showing any symptoms or be awaiting test results.

Monday 17th May 2021

From today we are able to reopen the indoor areas of the Clubhouse to hospitality. The ‘rule of six’ is back and a 1m+ distancing rule, and all customers are required to wear face masks until seated. Once seated the masks may be removed. All customers need to check-in upon arrival to the clubhouse, either via the NHS COVID app and our QR code or one of our manual Contact Cards. The main changing rooms and toilets are open, but showers are closed. Events may take place under certain circumstances and to a maximum of 30 guests.

We are offering food from our Bar Menu on Wednesdays-Sundays, with Breakfasts available again from 9am. The Halfway House is opening daily.

Monday 12th April 2021

The patios are open daily for hot and cold drinks, and we are able to offer a limited menu from our outdoor kitchen on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Please ensure you check in via the NHS covid app or complete a Contact Card manually upon arrival. We are unable to open any of our indoor areas or the changing rooms, but there are toilets available at the clubhouse.

Monday 29th March 2021

As of today the golf course and practice facilities are open again to members. We are looking to reintroduce non-member tee times from the middle of April.

The government roadmap allows for outdoor hospitality to return from Monday 12th April, and indoor hospitality to return from Monday 17th May. We are monitoring announcements and will update here in due course.

Monday 4th January 2021

In line with the national lockdown all facilities and courses will be closed from 4th January 2021 until further notice.

Monday 2nd December 2020

The course may reopen today but all of our hospitality function remains closed.

Thursday 5th November 2020

As per government instruction we will be closing the Clubhouse, Courses and all practice facilities from Thursday morning until 2nd December.

Saturday 4th July 2020

We are now permitted to open the Clubhouse on a limited basis. The bar hatch is open for service onto the patio and there are defined customer routes – either to the Golfing Area or the Hospitality Area.

The ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ Scheme will be in operation for August, offering up to £10 off the food and non-alcoholic bill per person.

The changing rooms were reopened on a limited basis on 22nd October.

Wednesday 13th May 2020

The golf courses will reopen for members-only use for the foreseeable future. The only facilities we are permitted are the Halfway House and the Pro Shop, both for takeaway only. Initially golf will only be played on a 9-hole basis with one other person.

4ball golf and the driving range was reintroduced on 1st June.

Wednesday 29th April 2020, 7:00pm

EnglandGolf has tonight published a series of guidance documents regarding how to make the sport safe for when we do get to reopen. As yet there is no timeline or date given for reopening, and until that date we will remain closed entirely. In the mean time we are looking into ways we can make The Kendleshire as safe as possible for all involved, and at the ways that EnglandGolf are recommending temporary changes to the game can be applied.

Please note: whilst golf is not currently allowed we are still a working golf course and our brilliant Greenstaff are working throughout the week to keep the essential maintenance programme going. They are using heavy machinery and operate at all times of the day, all days of the week. There is one Public Footpath running through the golf course, details of which can be found at FootPathMap. All other paths are for course machinery only and should not be walked. In addition, the golf course is not a suitable place for barbecues, picnics, ball games, mountain biking or other activities – especially during this time. Whilst most users have been responsibly exercising along the Public Footpath we have also caught people misusing the golf courses. Avon & Somerset Police have been made aware and will be conducting random visits to assist us with policing the site. If you witness people breaching the safety guidance please call 111 or use the Avon & Somerset online web form to report them.

Monday 23rd March 2020, 9:00pm

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement we are now closing The Kendleshire in its entirety to all customers until further notice. This includes the Clubhouse and Halfway House, the golf courses and all practice facilities.

Please follow our Facebook/Twitter/Instagram accounts for more information, and look out for our reopening date.

Our Events Team will begin the process of contacting future bookings shortly, at first with the most imminent events. Please bear with us if you have an event booked later in the summer.

In the mean time, please stay safe and stay at home. We all wish you well and we look forward too seeing you on the other side of all of this.

The Kendleshire Management.

Monday 23rd March 2020, 12:00pm.

We have now closed our Catering department and no further takeaway food is available. We ran out of stock!
From Tuesday 24th March our Clubhouse will be manned by essential staff only.

On the golf course, whilst it is still playable, there are new restrictions we have added. Buggies are no longer allowed and we will keep the Range open as much as we can. From 24th March all players will start on the 10th hole once they have checked in at the Pro Shop window. No customers will be permitted into the Pro Shop.

Wednesday 18th March 2020, 2:00pm.

We are monitoring updates and changes in advice. Please click here to read a comprehensive update from our management team, sent to our members earlier.

Our Bar Menu has now been withdrawn and we are offering a limited hot meals menu, with the option of being able to take away your meal.

We have taken the decision to cancel this coming Sunday Lunch (Mothers’ Day) and are in the process of contacting all those already booked.

You can now download our poster regarding Keeping the Golf Courses Open. Our advice on Keeping the Clubhouse Open has now been updated.

Tuesday 17th March 2020, 1:00pm.

We remain open and vigilant, with additional measures in place including requesting customers do not use cash.

We have taken the decision to close our Secret Garden restaurant for the foreseeable future.

A full update is available to download here.

Monday 16th March 2020, 12:30pm.

We are operating business as normal with some adjustments being made to allow for customers to sit further apart if desired.

Mothers’ Day is this Sunday and we produced a table plan that allows for tables to be further apart than normal, giving those with bookings already the confidence to attend. We will take no further bookings for this Sunday.

Events during the week involving buffets will take a slight alteration in the format so that the buffet food is served by a member of staff onto a customer’s plate. By ensuring that customers aren’t individually handling buffet food the whole event will have more confidence in the cleanliness.

If you have an event coming up with us please don’t hesitate to contact one of our team.

In the event of an emergency out of hours please contact one of our Management Team on 0117 956 7007 (option 2).
