It might be hard to believe, but December is just around the corner and that can only mean one thing – Christmas party season is almost here!

1.Planning is key

They key to any successful Christmas do is planning – and to start with that means finding out what your budget is and how much you have to spend before you hit Google and start researching possible venues for the big night. Once you know your magic number, the next step is to work out how many people you need to invite, and make sure there’s room for everyone too – no one wants to spend the evening sitting too close to someone they’d rather not!

2. Location, location, location

This one is so important that we have repeated it three times. When it comes to choosing the venue for your Christmas do, location is everything. If you work for a company where people live in several different areas, choosing somewhere that is easy for people to get to is really important. This means making sure there’s parking available in case people choose to drive, or researching some local taxi companies and organising transport to take people to and from the venue. Also, depending on the location it’s a good idea to ensure that the party doesn’t start too early in the evening to allow for any rush hour traffic.

3. Remember food and entertainment

No one likes being hungry – and being bored and hungry is even worse. That’s why it’s really important that you don’t forget to organise food for your Christmas do(whether that’s a light finger buffet or a three course sit down meal) as well as some entertainment to ensure that everyone is kept happy and smiling. Nowadays there are loads of options for entertainment that you can choose: from a traditional DJ to keep people dancing all night to a magician who will leave everyone in awe, the possibilities are almost endless and you are guaranteed to find something that your colleagues will love.
