The Kendleshire’s very own lady golf coach is celebrating after she recently won three awards from the PGA.
Emma Brown was nominated by the PGA for the awards, and received one for her Level 3 coaching and one for her charity work. Over the last five years Emma has raised over £25k for Macmillan, Cancer Research UK, Prostate Cancer UK, British Heart Foundation, SANDS, Bliss, Clic Sargeant and South West Children’s Hospice.
The final award was for player development for 2018, which was in recognition of the work Emma has done to get more ladies playing golf, and the work that The Kendleshire Kids Foundation are doing to get kids to play golf on a Monday and Saturday.
Speaking about the awards she has won, Emma said: “I love doing the charity stuff as a few of the charities have been close to me, family or friends.
“The work we are doing with kids on Mondays and Saturdays was started by member Wayne Braund. He kindly donated money so we can work with age groups under 18 years old who are from local schools. It’s been amazing and the results on the boy’s behaviours have been wonderful.”
